[PREVIEW] DISAPPEARS LIVE AT EMPTY BOTTLE DEC 12TH IN CHICAGO

For Kranky’s 20th anniversary they're hosting four shows in Chicago from December 12-15 and the 1st one is at Empty Bottle with Disappears, along with Lichens, and Implodes this Thursday Dec 12th. If you are not familiar with Disappears, they exploded on the Chicago scene back in 2008. They were so good in fact, they caught the attention of drummer Steve Shelley from Sonic Youth, who toured with them in 2011 following the release of their album “Guider”. They have a new record out titled “Era”, and will be playing this show in support of that record. They are known for their lives shows, and I’m sure will be melting faces Thursday night. It would be a pity if you could not make it and all your friends told you about how their faces got melted Thursday and it was totally wicked. VIDEO: DISAPPEARS - POWER

This week, Disappears unleashed their 4th album Era into the world. Here is the video for the track "Power," noting it "complements the song's severe, guttural groove by focusing on simple geometric shapes that were hand-drawn with a Sharpie. As the black-and-white short wears on, the lines and figures fold in on themselves and explain, moving at a relentless, hypnotic rhythm." Era is available now, via Kranky.

VIDEO: DISAPPEARS - KONE

As Disappears get ready to release their next record this fall on Kranky, here is a video for the track Kone off of there self-released 12” that drops later this month. Described as “pretty abstract and experimental,” the Kone EP features two versions of the title track (including an edit that ends in a locked groove) and another new song called “Kontakt.” Both of which feature the band’s new drummer, Noah Leger, who recently replaced Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth.
