[LISTEN UP] KEEP SHELLY IN ATHENS - FLYAWAY
"Flyway", the latest single from Keep Shelly in Athens' forthcoming album, is framed around the theme of ascension. Sarah P's vocals are subtle and reflective, creating a sense of aerial delicacy, which are complemented by production that layers effortlessly to glide gently upward. "Flyway" is fading summer light, designed to lift us from heavy things in beautiful ways. At Home is out September 17 on Cascine you can pre-order it HERE. In October, they embark on a cross-country U.S. tour with co-headliner Chad Valley.

VIDEO: DISAPPEARS - POWER
This week, Disappears unleashed their 4th album Era into the world. Here is the video for the track "Power," noting it "complements the song's severe, guttural groove by focusing on simple geometric shapes that were hand-drawn with a Sharpie. As the black-and-white short wears on, the lines and figures fold in on themselves and explain, moving at a relentless, hypnotic rhythm." Era is available now, via Kranky.

VIDEO: JESSE WOODS - GOLD IN THE AIR
Lo-Fi folk hero Jessie Woods just released the video for "Gold in the Air" of his new album titled "Get Your Burdens Lifted" which is out now on the Guns In The Sun label. Get Your Burdens Lifted is the debut record from Austin Texas' Jesse Woods. This ghostly folk LP was recorded by Woods in a self-constructed, all analog studio with the help of Austin friends and collaborators Bill Baird, Will Armstrong and Michael Crow. Vogue lauded Burdens as "dreamy, hazy neo-folk", while SPIN declared it "a haunted folk masterpiece" and I could not agree more!
