RETROSPECTIVE: ITALIAN GODFATHER OF THE DISCO MUSIC SOUND GIORGIO MORODER
The Italian godfather of the disco music sound with major contributions as not only a music producer, but most importantly for his composing of film soundtracks. I happened to grab some copies of these at Reckless Records from Giorgio Moroder the other week.
Giorgio Moroder - Chase (theme from Midnight Express)
Giorgio Moroder - Night Drive (American Gigolo Soundtrack - 1980)
Giorgio Moroder - To The Bridge Cat People (Original Soundtrack) - 1982
While Kraftwerk were experimenting in Dusseldorf and Tangerine Dream in Berlin, Giorgio Moroder was also experimenting with synthesizers such as the Moog in the studios of Munich, Germany. It has been a busy 2013 year for Giorgio with an appearance in the new Daft Punk release.
Daft Punk - Giorgio By Moroder
Giorgio Moroder 1st ever DJ Set this past May as part of the Red Bull Music Academy in New York City's Output Club.
